Dried parsley is one of those cupboard staples that proves its worth over time. This version from Apsogo keeps things simple: just parsley leaves, gently dried and free from additives or preservatives. The drying process is handled with care, so the herb holds on to its natural colour, scent, and flavour rather well. Straight out of the pack, the crushed leaves are a healthy green with a fresh, herby aroma that comes through as soon as you open the bag. The flakes are on the larger side, which works nicely in some dishes, though I prefer to crush or grind them slightly for a finer texture, especially if I am stirring them into smoother sauces or dressings. There are a few thin stalk pieces mixed in, which is fairly typical, but again, a quick rub between your fingers sorts that out easily. In terms of use, it is deliciously versatile. I stirred it into soups, folded it through pasta, mixed it into marinades, and scattered a little over finished dishes for a light herby note. But, like many dried herbs, it benefits from a bit of time. Added early in cooking or left to sit in oil, the flavour deepens and becomes far more rounded. The 100g pack is more generous than it first appears. Dried herbs tend to go further than expected, and this one should last quite a while even with regular use. The packaging feels robust, with a secure seal that keeps the contents in good condition between uses. Its gusseted base allows it to stand upright, though the overall size and shape can be a bit tricky to fit neatly among other items. If cupboard space is limited, transferring it to a jar may be a more practical choice. It has a use-by date of 31/12/2030 on the package, which is excellent. At first glance, it may seem a touch expensive, but given the quantity and how long it lasts, it works out quite reasonably. All in all, when allowed time to release its flavour, it proves to be a very useful ingredient, perfect for slow-cooked dishes such as hearty winter soups and stews. Happy to recommend!
