As a looseleaf tea enthusiast, I have to get it out of the way to clarify that this is not tea, even though the heading has “tea” listed in the heading. Tea is only made from the tea plant which isn’t in this. So, what IS in this? They call it an herbal blend with equal parts of 20% of the following: Organic sideritis raeseri (they call that “Greek mountain tea,” but, again, it isn’t real tea) Organic sage Organic peppermint Organic dittany Organic lemon balm Upon opening the bag, it was immediately fragrant. The sage and the peppermint were clearly potent and fresh. The leaves/flowers/buds were very floaty and not all like leaves. Perhaps they were the flowers? I have never had this combination, so that may be the case. It is not a complaint, just a surprise. They kind of clumped together like static as I was taking it out of the bag, unlike typical leaves. A serving is 2 grams (in my video, I mistakenly said 2 ounces at first, but I corrected myself right afterward) which is just over a Tablespoon for 8 ounces of water, according to my espresso scale which goes down to the tenth of a gram. You are supposed to steep for 10 minutes, which is a long time in the tea world. I don’t think it needed that long, but it didn’t make it bitter. The taste was very good, much like a chamomile and would be great for drinking in the evening as you relax after dinner and before bed. I drink my tea and coffee always with sweetener. This one is actually good enough that I could almost drink it straight, but I still like it much better with sugar. I think honey would be even better. However, those who don’t use sweetener will really appreciate it. The fact that it is certified organic is a definite plus. Not using pesticides matters a tremendous amount with tea drinks because they are able to be tasted in the infusion (not to mention what they do to your body). There are approximately 25 servings and that makes this about 50 cents per serving. That makes this a good price. I have found that I can usually get 2 and sometimes 3 steeps out of tea, even with the herbal stuff. Give it a try.
